Queen’s Engineering pilots direct entry stream for Electrical and Computer Engineering
The Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science at Queen’s University is developing a pilot project for undergraduate admission to the 2015/16 academic year. Students who have a strong interest in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) may choose to apply for direct entry into that program through the ECE Innovation Stream. 50 select students will receive a curriculum that builds on the general engineering knowledge provided in the common first year, with a focus on electrical and computer engineering.
“We are excited about this pilot project“ states Dean Kimberly A. Woodhouse. “It offers a unique opportunity for students with a passionate interest in electrical and computer engineering who know this is what they want to pursue. We remain committed to the concept of the common first year. It’s a vital component of the complete, well-rounded education that Queen’s engineering students experience. It is a core part of who we are. This is simply another path open to a specific group.”
